Patrick Mann

Patrick J. Mann was born in Washburn, North Dakota in 1935. He was educated in the Washburn and Bismarck, North Dakota Public School systems, then went on to receive a Music Education Degree with a concentration in vocal music from Northwestern University, Evanston, Illinois.

Mr. Mann credits many people with contributing to his musical development. In his younger days in North Dakota it was Leo Wilson, William Lefebvre, Orland Heskin and Clarion Larson. During his college years he was in close contact with George Howerton, John Paynter, John Ohl and Hadassah McGiffen. Later, in his post-graduate years he gleaned insight from Frank Bencriscutto and Joel Revson. Since moving to Seattle in 1996, it has been Karen Thomas, local conductor and composer, along with Eugene Rosseau, a friend from the Northwestern days, who have added to his musical expression.

His mother, Marjory Best Mann, and his sister, Betty Jo Perlich were, throughout their lives, the main force behind Mr. Mann's music.

Currently Mr. Mann is a member of the University Unitarian Church Loft Choir, Karen Thomas - Director, and the Seattle Symphonic Band, Lauren Anderson - Director.
